ABOUT
MEET MADISON
Hello and welcome to Complementary MT!
While I was fortunate enough to grow up in Montana, my adventurous spirit and desire to take the path less traveled led me all over the world in the pursuit of wine.

Over the years I've made wine, kicked up dirt in the vineyard and distributed the magic that is wine.
My passion and expertise lie at the intersection of the hard science of making wine and growing grapes and wine's ability to make people feel delighted, connected and free.

I found my passion for wine far from home, as a train weaved its way through the French countryside. From the tiny baggage room window, I watched rolling hills of vineyards fly by with harvest in full swing. I felt magic in the air and it took my breath away.

As I learned more about wine, I realized the industry has two distinct sides. One side is built on a heavy foundation of science, ranging from chemistry to biology to botany, and working heavily with the environment. Yet on the other side, wine offers people the freedom of expression, creativity and the ability to bring people together and connect with others.
Over the last decade, I have studied both sides to help bridge the gap between the science and the magic of wine

I applied to California Polytechnic State University, and graduated with a BS in Wine & Viticulture.

I followed the harvest and got my hands dirty making wine. Mentored by phenomenal professionals I collaborated in winemaking across California, Oregon, and New Zealand.

I immersed myself into the business and sales side of the wine industry taking a position in Austin where I sold wine across Central Texas for one of the largest distributors in the United States.

This global industry experience enabled me to bring a top-quality consultation and sales service to my home state of Montana, where my joy in introducing people to wine grew stronger than ever.
What started as backyard tastings for friends and family quickly turned into regularly-scheduled group sessions and corporate virtual tastings.
Ten years of industry experience later, I still get excited every time I open a bottle of wine and am thrilled at the opportunity to share my knowledge with you.
I can’t wait to share my zone of genius with you.

Cheers,
madison
